Patronage granted for Löwenberg
Matthias Platzeck, the Minister-President of Brandenburg, has accepted the patronage for the International Autumn Forum in Löwenberg. In October about 60 teenagers will gather in Löwenberg to analyse and evaluate the EU’s eastward expansion.
Annual General Meeting 2010 of EYP Germany
Last weekend EYP Germany held its annual General Meeting in Berlin. Over 60 members took part in discussions about our upcoming sessions and elected the new members of the board of EYP Germany.
Patronage granted for European Youth Summit on Education
The European Youth Summit on Education in Passau (15th till 18th September) is now under the patronage of Mrs Androulla Vassiliou, Member of the European Commission. As a member of José Manuel Barroso’s Commission from 2010 to 2014 she is responsible for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth. Furthermore Jürgen Dupper, Mayor of Passau, agreed to share the patronage with Mrs Vassiliou.
European Youth Summit on Education in cooperation with the University of Passau
Prof. Dr. Walter Schweitzer, president of the Passau University confirmed a cooperation with the European Youth Parliament Germany for the Summit in September 2010. We are looking forward to work together with the university and be able to use its rooms for Committee Work.
Frankfurt 2010 Website launched
From July 30th till August 8th, 2010, we will welcome 220 young people from 33 European countries in Frankfurt am Main. The official website of the session has now been launched: www.frankfurt2010.eu. This website contains information on the EYP and the session itself. It should serve as a platform for participants, friends, EYPers and all those who are interested in the event.
President of the European Parliament grants Patronage
The President of the European Parliament, Mr. Jerzy Buzek, as well as the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland, have granted their patronage to all activities of the European Youth Parliament. We are are proud that these high ranking officials of European Institutions support the political involvement of young people from all over Europe. 2nd German-Franco Forum in retrospect
With the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, November 22nd, the 2nd German-Franco Forum came to an end. 80 Delegates from more than ten European countries took part in the session in Saarbrücken and Strasbourg. During the cross-border Forum the participants discussed the current state of Human Rights in Europe.

Verena Namberger, President of EYP Germany and Sonja Weicker, member of the board, resigned from their offices. Three National Committees of the European Youth Parliament were awarded the European Charlemagne Youth Prize in Aachen
The European Youth Parliament in Belgium, Czech Republic and Finland have been chosen as national winners in this year´s Charlemagne Youth Prize competition. The prizes were awarded today in a cermony involving the President of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöttering, in Aachen. Stuttgart: Delegations for International Sessions selected
On Saturday, May 16th the 19th National Selection Conference of EYP Germany ended in Stuttgart. 110 Delegates from 12 schools spend 5 days debating about current European issues and the session’s theme “Bridge the Gap – Poverty in Europe”. Two schools were selected to represent Germany at the upcoming sessions of the European Youth Parliament.
